I appreciate those who make breakthroughs for independent food provision
According to him, there was great potential for urban farming to reduce dependence on food supplies from outside the region.

"I appreciate those who make breakthroughs for independent food provision. Of course, this is very helpful," he explained.
During his working visit, there had been a community initiative to develop hydroponics to conduct urban farming.
"This is public participation in providing food so it doesn't just depend on the government providing food supplies," he added.
Then he stressed the regional governments' important role in ensuring food availability for Jakarta residents, to overcome the problem of rising food prices which often occur ahead of religious holidays such as Chinese New Year and Ramadan.
"We'll keep monitoring and ensuring that related parties, such as Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Agency, and BUMD in the food cluster, run their duties well in maintaining food supply and price stability," he stated.
